Post 2: How Creation Stories Help Us See

In my previous blog post, I mentioned how creation stories provide a sense of knowing to the people who believe in them. Many of these stories come from different cultures and people who see the world differently than others. These stories have been written and taught for years and years just so that people "know" how we got here. After all, humans are curious and can't just take any kind of simple answer. We must know who, what, when, where, why, and how.
So how have creation stories affected the way we see the world? In a sense, creation stories help us see the world point blank. One's perspective of the world may be altered and become more open minded when they hear how the world was created. The creation stories give us an insight of how society and cultures were in the past. For example, in the UGA creation stories summary, states that, "Despite their diversity, the great commonality of all these stories is a desire to explain the world and its history."
Today, these creation stories are a type of literature that opens the minds of anyone who reads about them. They are not here for you to believe in them, but to get a point of view as to how other cultures believe.
